Shanna A. Hocking is deeply committed to helping you achieve what you didn't know was possible through your leadership and philanthropy.
Shanna Hocking is the founder and CEO of Hocking Leadership, which helps universities and nonprofit organizations raise more money by strengthening leaders, teams, and workplace culture through executive advisory, team coaching, onboarding coaching, and retreats. Prior, Shanna spent 20+ years raising 6-, 7-, 8-, and 9-figure gifts and leading collaborative teams (ultimately nearly 50 professionals) at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Alabama, and Duke University.
Shanna is the author of One Bold Move a Day: Meaningful Actions to Help Women Fulfill Their Leadership and Career Potential (McGraw Hill, 2022), named "one of the 9 motivating books to supercharge your 2024" by the Next Big Idea Club. Her expertise has been featured in Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, Fortune, Fast Company, Bloomberg Businessweek, Harper's Bazaar UK, Entrepreneur, and numerous other publications. In April 2024, she was recognized as a LinkedIn Top Voice. She has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, and Nexstar affiliate television stations across North America.
When she's not transforming advancement teams, you'll find Shanna plunging down waterslides, attending live concerts, and raiding her stash of sour gummy candy. She dresses up for airplane travel (yes, really) and approaches life with what she calls "a big city mentality and a college town heart."
Shanna holds a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University and a B.A. in Modern Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary.
